The black-and-white images featuring CHANTAL that fill this volume were taken in 2022 in an old flat in the centre of Ulm. The natural light streaming through the windows was the only source of illumination. None of the photographs were retouched afterwards to remove imperfections or create perfection.
With "Next Steps," I want to create photographs that appear less staged and instead seem more honest and intimate. The all-too-familiar pin-up and Playboy poses that we have seen so many times before should be deliberately avoided. Instead, the images should convey the feeling of accidentally witnessing a private, almost everyday moment. The fact that these scenes are actually carefully planned should, in the best case, remain hidden. The focus is on the women – their personality, their presence, their character – in an erotic setting.
