Next Steps "Un Hommage aux Femmes" - Relia 2023
The black-and-white photographs featuring RELIA shown in this illustrated book were taken in 2023 in a studio in Aarau. The existing window light was the only source of light. Retouching to remove blemishes or smooth out irregularities was completely avoided.
With "Next Steps," I am pursuing the idea of creating images that are less staged and more immediate and intimate. The familiar pin-up and Playboy poses, which we know in countless variations, were deliberately not to be part of the project. Instead, the photographs should convey the impression that one is witnessing a spontaneous, private, almost everyday moment. Ideally, it should not be apparent that these scenes are actually staged. The focus is on the women – their personality, their charisma, their essence – embedded in an erotic atmosphere.
